Colin Matthews Triptych (1984)

Tripartite inventions for for violin, viola, cello, double bass and piano

The title of this short single movement derives from its division into three sections - the first fairly slow and improvisatory, the second with more movement over a lyrical solo for the double bass, and the third very fast. Events within each section also tend to happen in threes.
