Peter Buckoke's first professional position was as No.2 in the bass section of Teatro La Fenice in Venice. In 1977 he moved from Venice to London to take up the same position in the 0rchestra of English National Opera. In 1980 he left ENO to freelance with most of the other London orchestras. He has played by invitation with the Alberni, Arditi, Allegri, Chilingarian, Coull, Dante, Endellion and Harpham String Quartets. He plays on screen in two ballroom scenes; Shakespeare in Love and Joe Wright's Pride and Prejudice He plays baroque bass with the Early Music group in London. He runs the Alexander department at the Royal College of Music in London. He lives with his wife and two sons in London. Any spare time is devoted to his nine colonies of bees.
